Vision Therapy for Eye Turns or Lazy Eye

Amblyopia or “Lazy Eye”, and Strabismus “Eye Turn” have often been traditionally treated with glasses, patching and/or surgery.

While those treatments are often appropriate, vision therapy can often improve vision far beyond what traditional treatments alone can achieve.

We have treated hundreds of strabismus and amblyopia patients just in our clinic, and thousands more are treated in other vision therapy clinics across the country and while some cases can be challenging, we have seen significant improvement in overall visual function in the majority of these cases.

Strabismus and amblyopia affects the visual system in many ways. Usually, the root issue is that the visual system is “off balance” and the brain favors one eye over the other, or struggles to coordinate the 2 eyes as a team.

And just like speech therapy could train one's brain to better coordinate and control the mouth, vision therapy can train the brain to better coordinate and control the eyes and the visual system.
